Gary started his industrial career when he was 14-years old. His best friend’s family owned an excavation and demolition firm. Every day, after school, Gary and his friend would walk to his parents business and would play/operate excavation equipment. At 17 they were sent on excavation jobs.
After eating dirt for a while Gary decided there must be a better way to make a living. He went back to school and majored in industrial engineering. He was then hired by Dayco Corporation as Customer Service Manager. Gary engineered and sold power transmission drives and hose systems. One day one of his best vendors told him that a purchasing position with a large metal office furniture manufacturer was available. At first Gary was hired as the MRO Buyer and in short time was promoted to Manager of Purchasing. This is where he learned manufacturing competencies.
At this time Gary wanted some adventure so he and his wife moved to New Hampshire and started a retail store. They successfully operated the store for a number of years before deciding they missed the pace and opportunities available in New Jersey and moved back.
Gary was then hired as a Sales Representative for a forklift and material handling distributor. In short time he was promoted to National Accounts Manager. After selling forklifts and pallet rack systems he was asked by a number of his customers if he could help with the design and operation of their distribution facilities. This was when he decided to start his first industrial business addressing those needs.
