N.J., N.Y., CONN., PA., July 7, 2010 - The Industrial and Office Real Estate Brokers Association of the New York Metropolitan Area Inc. (IOREBA) has announced the installation of its 2010-2011 officers. One of the nation’s oldest and largest regional commercial real estate trade groups, IOREBA has roots dating back to 1927 and an elite membership of brokerage and industry-related professionals based in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
The new slate of officers is headed by Sean Brady, who has been named President. He is Senior Director of Cushman & Wakefield in East Rutherford, N.J., and has been involved with IOREBA for 25 years. Most recently, he served as the group’s Vice President and has been instrumental in growing the organization in both membership and member value.
“The mission of IOREBA officers is to encourage high ethical standards and unite our members,” noted Brady. “Networking is an integral part of doing business, especially in today’s economy. Our members continually share perspectives, knowledge and skills that develop into valuable contacts and business opportunities.”
David Simon, Principal & Chief Operating Officer of Cassidy Turley NJ Region in Teaneck, N.J., will serve as Vice President; Bob Martie, Executive Vice President, NJ Region of Colliers International in Parsippany-Princeton, N.J., will serve as Secretary; and Marc Graham, Director of Cushman & Wakefield in East Rutherford, N.J., will serve as Treasurer for the coming year. IOREBA is dedicated to providing the brokerage community with a forum for networking, education and training. The organization will be incorporating a new program, IOREBA University, to provide members with information on social media and its importance within the real estate industry. A mix of brokers, developers, service providers, attorneys and those in related real estate industry support services comprise its diversified membership.
“It has been an honor to lead this organization and see the hard work and planning come together to create a successful agenda of events while inducting 52 new members,” stated outgoing president for 2009-2010 Charles Logan Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of The Aztec Corporation in Iselin, N.J. “The last 12 months have marked an extraordinary year of growth for IOREBA. I look forward to its continued success through this talented and seasoned group of real estate professionals under Sean’s direction.” Logan will continue to support the new Board’s efforts by spearheading the newly formed IOREBA University.
IOREBA’s monthly meetings and events feature distinguished speakers, while its popular networking events include an annual Developer’s Night and a Golf, Tennis and Dinner Outing. Additionally, IOREBA awards substantial cash scholarships annually to undergraduates studying real estate at universities and colleges in its members’ states.
