IOREBA ANNOUNCES SCHEDULE FOR 2009-2010
Real Estate, Development Networking Events Slated for Growing Organization

ISELIN, N.J., Aug. 18, 2009 – The Industrial and Office Brokers Association of the New York Metropolitan Area (IOREBA) has announced its 2009-2010 monthly meeting/event schedule. With roots dating back to 1927, IOREBA is one of the nation’s largest regional commercial real estate groups; its more than 300 members conduct business in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut.

“Our organization has experienced growth in both membership and event attendance over the past two years,” said Charles Logan Jr., incoming president of IOREBA and president and chief executive officer for The Aztec Corporation. “The past years’ events have proven to be great networking opportunities, and we are building on that success.”

  • Tues., Sept. 22, 2009 – IOREBA members will kick off the 2009/2010 event year as the first joint meeting with ICREW (Industrial Commercial Real Estate Women, Inc. – NJ) will be held on a Boat Cruise around Manhattan aboard the newly released private luxury yacht, “Destiny,” setting sail from Hoboken. Jerry Zaro, Head of Economic Development of New Jersey, will be the featured speaker highlighting “Opportunities for Economic Development in New Jersey.”
  • Tues., Oct. 27, 2009 – The event focusing on industry and state matters will be a joint meeting with Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR). It will take place at the New York Athletic Club in New York City. SIOR’s National President Craig Meyer will provide a “National Outlook of the Real Estate Marketplace.”
  • Mon., Dec. 7, 2009 – IOREBA’S Annual Holiday meeting will be a great party and fundraiser at The South City Grill in Jersey City, N.J.
  • Mon., Jan. 25, 2010 – IOREBA has chosen an important topic of working with developers and showcasing their Urban Projects from across the area as the main theme of the 2nd Annual Urban Developer’s Night. Newark, N.J. will be the backdrop for the event, which attracted over 175 professionals last year.
  • Mon., Feb. 22, 2010 – This scheduled event will deal with the “State of the Economy” and will take place at The Stony Hill Inn in Hackensack, N.J.
  • Mon., March 29, 2010 – The 18th Annual Developer’s Night, historically one of IOREBA’s best attended programs, will feature a networking reception that showcases regional projects, followed by a panel discussion during a sit-down dinner. The meeting will take place at the Glenpointe Marriott in Teaneck, N.J. Proceeds from Developer’s Night will benefit IOREBA’s Scholarship Fund, with money donated to Monmouth University. “IOREBA awards substantial cash scholarships annually to undergraduates studying real estate at universities and colleges in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut,” Logan explained.
  • Mon., April 26, 2010 – For the first time, an Annual Service Industry Showcase will be the seventh meeting. This event will provide an opportunity for Appraisers, Architects, Attorneys, Bankers, Contractors, Engineers, Furniture Dealers, IT Consultants, Movers, Public Relations, Voice & Data Consultants and many more associate members to showcase their professional services and projects to members of the real estate industry.
  • Mon., May 24, 2010 – The final meeting of the year will be a networking golf and tennis outing on Monday, May 24, 2010 at the Hollywood Golf Club in Deal, N.J. The event draws in approximately 300 members and guests for golf, tennis, lunch, dinner and various raffles and prizes.

New Fee Structure Provides Economic Benefits for Members
To help members cope with the tough economy, IOREBA has implemented a new membership fee program. The new structure makes attendance at events more economical for members.

“In the history of this organization, networking has always been a main focus,” stated Dave Violette, outgoing president of IOREBA and vice president of Colliers Houston & Company. Charles Logan reinforces the work that has been done by all past presidents and is looking forward to expanding on their hard work. “There is a deep value in networking and working together during tough times, and the 2009-2010 calendar features more of these events for that purpose in addition to the content of the programs.”
