(IOREBA) has announced the installation of its 2009-2010 officers. One of the nation’s oldest and largest regional commercial real estate trade groups, IOREBA has roots dating back to 1927 and an elite membership of brokerage and industry-related professionals based in New Jersey, New York, Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
The new slate of officers is headed by Charles O. Logan Jr, who has been named as president. He is president and CEO of The Aztec Corporation in Iselin, N.J., and has been involved with IOREBA for 24 years. Most recently, he served as the group’s vice president and has been instrumental in growing the organization in both membership and member value.
“At our core, we aim to help each other benefit from shared relationships and experiences,” Logan said. “IOREBA members rely on one another for valuable perspectives, knowledge and skills that unveil and create opportunity. This ultimately makes us become more beneficial to our clients.”
Sean Brady, senior director of Cushman & Wakefield, Inc. in East Rutherford, N.J., will serve as vice president; David E. Knee, managing director of Jones Lang LaSalle in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J., will serve as secretary; and David Simon, chief operating officer of Colliers Houston & Co. in Teaneck, N.J., will serve as treasurer for the coming year. IOREBA’s officers also include a 15-member executive committee and a senior council comprised of more than 30 industry leaders and past presidents.
IOREBA is dedicated to providing the brokerage community with a forum for networking, education and training. A mix of brokers, developers, service providers, attorneys and those in related real estate industry support services comprise its diversified membership.
“The past 12 months have marked a year of growth and change for IOREBA, and it has been a pleasure to observe and contribute to this progress as president,” noted outgoing president for 2008-2009 and senior council member David E. Violette, vice president of Colliers Houston & Co.’s property management division in Somerset, N.J. “One of the most gratifying aspects of holding this position has been the chance to see, first-hand the energy and commitment that our members give to this valuable trade organization. I look forward to watching our success as we move toward a positive future.”
IOREBA’s monthly meetings and events feature distinguished speakers, while its popular networking events include an annual Developer’s Night and a Golf, Tennis and Dinner Outing. Additionally, IOREBA awards substantial cash scholarships annually to undergraduates studying real estate at universities and colleges in its members’ states.
