John G.J. Ritter joined Sholom & Zuckerbrot Realty (S&Z) in 1978, and has been a Partner since 1992. He has had a broad range of experience in a wide variety of real estate transactions. He is also a partner in Octagon Properties LLC a real estate development and investment firm. Before entering the real estate industry, Mr. Ritter practiced engineering in the civil & nuclear power industry. At S&Z, Mr. Ritter currently oversees the project teams which exclusively represent the City of New York and Magellan Aerospace Corporation. Some of his recent transactions include the leasing of over 500,000 sf. of offices and warehouse space for the City of New York and the State of New York. Mr. Ritter’s accomplishment include the sale and leasing of 500,000 sf. of buildings to Variety Accessories, Inc. in Brooklyn, Queens and New Jersey, the sale of the 31 acre Grain Terminal in Brooklyn owned by the Port Authority of NY & NJ, the sale of the 290,000 sf. Daily News printing plant in Brooklyn, the sale of the 1,200,000 sf. Delco Moraine General Motors Facility in Bristol CT and the sale and subsequent leasing of the 485,000 sf. Bulova Corporate Center in Queens. In 1993, Mr. Ritter and the partners of S&Z created Octagon Properties LLC, a real estate development group which has developed and owns over 1,000,000 sf. of retail, office and industrial space. John created S&Z’s management division for partner owned and third party management which manages over 20 buildings.
